ITA: Il ritratto acustico del Porto di Fano è uno dei tanti contributi dedicati al tema del mare ma con la novità di presentarsi sotto forma di “Paesaggio Sonoro” dove i sensi dell’udito e della vista si mescolano in un’unica espressione. Questa esperienza multisensoriale pone un’attenzione particolare a suoni che registrati singolarmente e sapientemente ri-composti, raccontano una storia. In una città di mare, elementi come: il faro, il nautofono, i marinai, i gabbiani, il suono delle onde che si infrangono sugli scogli sono immagini e suoni ben impresse nella nostra mente. Ma che succederebbe se uno di questi segnali andasse perso?
La circostanza dello spegnimento definitivo del nautofono di Fano, avvenuta l’8 gennaio 2013, sancisce una data epocale per la città marittima dove un elemento caratterizzante il mare verrà totalmente dimenticato dalle generazioni future. “PORTUS FORTUNÆ consegna ai posteri un vero e proprio documento storico per la memoria della città così legata all’ambiente marittimo. Un viaggio tra spazi naturali e antropomorfizzati: da una parte il mare, la spiaggia e i gabbiani e dall’altra la fatica dei pescatori. Il progetto, qui presentato nella forma video, è pensato per uno spazio immersivo dove l’ascoltatore rivive il suono da una nuova prospettiva: dal fondo del mare.
EN: An acoustic portrait of the Fano port is one of the many contributions on the subject of the sea, but its novelty lies in the fact that it is an “Auditory Landscape”, in which the senses of hearing and sight mix in a single expression. This multi-sensorial experience calls particular attention to sounds that, registered individually then conscientiously re-composed, tell a story. In a city by the sea, elements such as the lighthouse, foghorns, sailors, seagulls and the sound of the waves crashing against the rocks are images and sounds that are well-impressed in our minds. But what would happen if one of these signals were to be taken away? The closing of the foghorn tower in Fano, on January 8 2013, is a historic date for the maritime city, where an element that characterized
the sea will be completely forgotten by future generations.
PORTUS FORTUNÆis a historical document for posterity, a memorial of a city so tied to the sea. It is a journey through natural and anthropomorphized spaces. On the one hand, the sea, the beach and seagulls; on the other, the toil of the fishermen. Presented here in video format, the project was conceived for an immersive space, where the listener relives the sound from a new perspective: the bottom of the sea.
